Hal's Spirits
THE SPIRIT OF 1916 is the first book in the Hal's Spirits series and explores the First World War told through the experiences of a young man killed before his time as he haunts a modern teenager - Hal. In the second book BROTHERS OF THE KWAI Hal meets Teddy the spirit of a man held prisoner by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War. The third book BY A WAR DIVIDED is set during a time of chaos and division - The English Civil War which pitched brother against brother.
Book Four deals with a different kind of war - the war for equality and the lives of the Suffragettes. SISTERS THROUGH DEEDS NOT WORDS.
Book five focuses on a long forgotten war that was a pivotal point in history for many. FAR TOO HIGH A PRICE TO PAY is set primarily in the Second Boer War and Hal is dealing with life during a global pandemic.
Book six begins off the Spanish coast and one of the most famous battles is British military history ENGLAND EXPECTED A BOY OF SPIRIT TO DO HIS DUTY follows Joe Howarth's life in the 19th century while Hal is working towards his A levels in a world still impacted by COVID.
The latest book ISLANDS OF NO STRATEGIC OF MILITARY IMPORTANCE Hal is taken to Occupied Jersey in the Channel Islands during the Second World War.
